Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that Farhad Moshiri is now considering, Vitor Pereira, for the Everton manager’s job, as he told the Transfer Show on Sky Sports (18/01/22 at 6:30 pm).

The Sky reporter first shared that Mourinho himself is being discussed, before adding that there is ‘no way’ the Roma boss will leave the Serie A giants.

Whilst Everton won’t be getting Mourinho, it seems as though another Portuguese coach is on Everton’s radar in the form of Pereira.

The 53-year-old, just like Mourinho, has taken the reigns at Porto during his career, but he was recently sacked by Turkish giants, Fenerbahçe.

Transfer expert, Solhekol, shared that, before Carlo Ancelotti took to the Everton helm, Pereira was a name discussed back then.

“Another name being considered by the Everton owner is the former Porto and Fenerbahçe manager, Vítor Pereira,” said Solhekol.

“He was in the running to become the Everton manager before Carlo Ancelotti was appointed.”

One thing Everton fans know for sure and that’s Duncan Ferguson will take temporary charge and will be on the touchline for the visit of Aston Villa on Saturday.

Other than that, everything else is up in the air and the supporters have every right to question where their club is heading.

Bringing in someone like Pereira isn’t the answer, he was assistant to André Villas-Boas at Porto, before taking over when the ex-Chelsea and Tottenham man left for England.

He won back-to-back league titles in Portugal, before struggling in Europe and quitting his role.

Pereira’s most recent outing was in Turkey where he was sacked by Fenerbahçe only six months into his reign in Istanbul.

His lack of inexperience is a risk and Everton surely need to go down the road of someone who has the know-how of the Premier or someone who understands the club and its fans.
