Alan Shearer has stated that Luis Diaz has been ‘unbelievable’ for Liverpool, as he told Premier League Productions (16/03/22 at 10:25 pm).

Ever since his January transfer from Porto, the new flyer on Liverpool’s flanks has already won over a number of fans.

The 25-year-old had hardly been in England for a week and he was already putting a winners medal around his neck when he helped the Reds beat Chelsea in the League Cup final at Wembley.

Nonetheless, on Wednesday night, his Premier League title-chasing side beat Arsenal 2-0, with Diaz starting the match.

It was put to Shearer that, during the period Mo Salah and Sadio Mane were at the Africa Cup of Nations, some were expecting them to drop points.

But they didn’t, and instead, they went into the market and brought Diaz to Merseyside.

“Yeah and then they bring another one in, Diaz,” said Shearer. “Who has been unbelievable, hasn’t he?!

“It’s really exciting for Liverpool. They didn’t really play well in the first half, but we expected a reaction in the second and that’s exactly what they got.

“The manager went in at half-time and let a few know that it wasn’t good enough. That’s right (they were out early for the second half).”

Another great thing Diaz has done is lift the mood around the Liverpool camp and bring another 10% out of his teammates.

Not only that, but it has also given many people belief that the Reds can add multiple trophies to their cabinet this term.

Win their remaining nine Premier League matches and they are champions of England once more.

Whilst that seemed unlikely back in December, with the firepower Jurgen Klopp can pick from now, you don’t want to bet against them.
