Everton fans react to the news that their club are now front-runners to sign James Maddison from Norwich.

The 21-year-old is seen as a long term replacement for Wayne Rooney, who is expected to complete his own move to DC United in the near future.

Maddison greatly impressed in 2017/18, scoring 14 goals and providing eight assists in the Championship as the midfielder was named in the PFA team of the year.
This has lead to plenty of interest from the Premier League, with West Ham United having a £12m offer for the youngster rejected during the January transfer window.
The Hammers are set to revive their interest, while Fulham, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on Maddison.
Yet it is the Toffees who currently lead the way for the signature of the England Under-21 international – who is valued at upwards of £20m – and their fans have greeted the news with a mixed response.
