Liverpool are chasing a deal for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat as they look to beat Manchester United to his signature.
Sofyan Amrabat is now the subject of talks over a move to Liverpool as they push to sign new midfield options.
That is according to multiple reports, which started over in the Netherlands with claims from newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.
They suggest that Liverpool are ‘on track’ to finalise the signing of Amrabat with an agreement now in place.
It’s stated that Liverpool have now agreed a deal worth around €35million (£30million) for Amrabat and a deal is now close.
Fabrizio Romano claims there is no bid on the table just yet but Liverpool are ‘now informed’ on the conditions needed to sign Amrabat.
Romano believes that Liverpool are still weighing up their options for a holding midfield signing but Amrabat is certainly in the frame.
TalkSPORT add that Amrabat has now held talks with Liverpool over a shock move to Anfield.
It’s noted that Manchester United have been chasing Amrabat all summer but Financial Fair Play issues mean they can’t finalise a deal.
Liverpool could swoop in for Amrabat, leaving Erik ten Hag gutted having worked with Amrabat during his time at FC Utrecht.

Sofyan Amrabat could join Wataru Endo at Liverpool
The Liverpool midfield pursuit has been chaos over the last week.
A push for Romeo Lavia, then switching to Moises Caicedo, seeing him join Chelsea, going back to Lavia and then seeing him pick Chelsea too… it’s been difficult to track.
Liverpool are now ramping up their moves with Stuttgart midfielder Wataru Endo believed to be on the verge of joining the Reds.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Endo is now set to undergo a medical with Liverpool with an €18million (£15.5million) deal now in place.

Endo is an experienced holding midfielder at 30 and has impressed as Stuttgart captain in the Bundesliga.
Amrabat could now join too, giving Liverpool two battle-hardened midfielders to operate behind Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Neither Endo nor Amrabat will really set pulses racing and signing both would be cheaper than just signing Lavia, with Liverpool going down a different route now.
Maybe Liverpool just don’t think the value is there in the top holding midfielders now and would rather go with Endo and Amrabat as workhorses until the right long-term option comes along.
