Jamie Carragher has said on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports Premier League (7:10pm, October 3, 2022) that Arsenal duo Gabriel Jesus and William Saliba have taken Mikel Arteta’s side to another level.
The former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit has been impressed by how striker Jesus and central defender Saliba have done for Arsenal so far this campaign.
Brazil international striker Jesus moved to Arsenal from defending Premier League champions Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has scored five goals and provided three assists in eight Premier League appearances for the Gunners so far this campaign.
France international centre-back Saliba returned from a loan spell to the Gunners in the summer of 2022.
The 21-year-old has scored two goals and provided one assist in eight Premier League matches so far this campaign.
Saiba has been so good that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is playing Ben White at right-back.
Former Leeds United loanee White is a centre-back by trade, but the England international is being deployed at right-back at the moment.
Gabriel and Saliba are the two centre-backs in the Gunners’ starting lineup at the moment.
