Both Steve Morison and Billy Sharp have now stung Leeds this season.

Leeds United’s struggles in the striking department have been well documented this season. They struggled to find a suitable replacement to New Zealand goal-machine Chris Wood in the summer – after he headed to Burnley.
That has been compounded in recent weeks by the performances of two former Leeds strikers in fixtures against the Whites.
Today saw Billy Sharp put Leeds to the sword. His second was a penalty, but his first was a superb volley from the edge of the box. It was his 200th career goal in the Football League and Leeds fans will not have enjoyed bearing witness to the landmark.

He spent one season at Leeds, scoring just five goals, before heading back to the Blades where he hasn’t stopped scoring since.
It is not the first time a striker from the past has come back to haunt Leeds.
Last month Leeds lost a stunning game with Millwall 4-3. Former Leeds striker Steve Morison was brilliant in that game, setting up three of the goals Millwall scored including Jed Wallace’s last minute winner.

He was often lampooned at Leeds for his lack of goalscoring prowess, but has been in fine form since returning to London back in 2015.
Leeds gave up on both these proven Football League strikers and it certainly looks like both could have done a job at Elland Road. What they would give to have a fit and firing Sharp up front for them at the moment.
