Nikica Jelavic looks set to become a free agent.
David Moyes has not been afraid to look at former clubs in order to improve his current Sunderland crop.
In the summer he delved into his Manchester United reserves, with Donald Love, Paddy McNair and Adnan Januzaj all arriving.
Recently he has been looking to former Everton players.

Victor Anichebe, Steven Pienaar and most recently Joleon Lescott, Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson have all arrived at Sunderland under Moyes.
Now another former Everton player appears to be on the market.
Nikica Jelavic’s career in China appears to be coming to an end. Reports in his Croatian homeland from Dnevno suggest his deal at Beijing Renhe is set to come to an end after contract issues in the Chinese capital.
He is set to have his contract terminated by mutual consent, which will make him free to find another team.
Also, as the Chinese transfer window is different to the one in Europe, he is free to return to the UK.
David Moyes – Everton Manager and Nikica Jelavic
He has certainly not lost his goalscoring boots. He scored 15 goals in 29 appearances for Beijing, despite their status as a fairly mediocre side in Chinese football’s second tier.
He was an instant hit at Everton after joining from Rangers and knows what it takes to score in the Premier League.
Maybe another Moyes old-boy could rock up at the Stadium of Light?
