Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to provide their reaction as Leeds are seemingly keen on signing Rangers winger Ryan Kent.

The Times have reported that newly-promoted Leeds want to sign Kent – one season after his permanent departure from Anfield.

It seems the Yorkshire club have submitted a £10 million bid for his services, just £3 million more than the fee Rangers paid for him last summer.

There are some Liverpool fans on Twitter who feel that Leeds will need to up their bid if they are to sign their former academy product.

Not only that, but it also seems that the Reds could be in for some cash if the winger does move from the Scottish Premiership to the English Premier League because they inserted a 20% sell-on clause into his contract, as reported by the Standard at the time.

It didn’t work out for Kent at Anfield, in terms of breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team thoughts, but he is doing well under the stewardship of another Liverpool legend in Steven Gerrard.

Leeds United’s first six fixtures of 2020/21

  1. Liverpool (A)

    September 12

  2. Fulham (H)

    September 19

  3. Sheffield United (A)

    September 26

  4. Manchester City (H)

    October 3

  5. Wolves (H)

    October 17

  6. Aston Villa (A)

    October 24

But given the money available to Premier League sides, and the lure of playing in England’s top-flight, this might prove to be a difficult move to turn down.

Then again, Kent has built up a strong relationship up in Glasgow and he has the chance to win the Premiership title with the Gers and write his name into the legendary books.

Either way, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be coming up against Kent next season or whether he’ll stay put at Ibrox – the Premier League champions face off against the champions of the Championship on the opening day of the season.
