Liverpool must consider hijacking Everton’s efforts to sign Idrissa Gueye.
The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is heavily linked with joining the Toffees this summer but the transfer to Goodison Park has hit the skids despite the player agreeing a wage cut [90 Min].
That being said, a move to Everton remains possible and Liverpool must seriously think about doing a Luis Diaz and hijacking it.
Diaz was on his way to Tottenham Hotspur in January of this year until Jurgen Klopp and Julian Ward offered him a place at Kirkby instead, an invitiation that the Colombia international was only too happy to accept.
Not that Liverpool should purposely sabotage Everton’s attempts to strengthen their squad, just in the name of Merseyside rivalry.

But Klopp desperately needs another midfielder and with PSG willing to axe Gueye, and the player himself being proven in the Premier League, it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to fathom him at Anfield.
Yes, he’s also 32 and well outside the profile of what Klopp, Ward and the Reds’ scouting team are looking for.
But he’s also cheap, available and evidently desperate for something different, evident by his willingness to accept more money to join Everton in the first place.
Heaven knows Liverpool need a mega signing for midfield in the long term, someone like Jude Bellingham for instance.
But in the short term, Gueye, who has 134 Premier League appearances under his belt, would do just fine.
