Will Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers recoup the money that was spent on Carlos Pena? It seems unlikely at the moment.

By all accounts, it seems like Carlos Pena has endured a horrific few months since leaving Rangers on loan.
Pena, who joined Cruz Azul in his homeland on a 12-month loan in January, has been booed on a number of occasions by fans of the Mexican club and it seems like he is no closer to winning their affections after his latest outing.
Brought back to Mexico by Pedro Caixinha, who was sacked as Rangers boss in October, the 28-year-old playmaker was taken off at half time in the 2-1 defeat by rivals America.
His withdrawal was not because of injury and Caixinha admitted himself afterwards that Pena had simply posted a poor performance, resulting in his substitution.
It’s bad news for Rangers, who spent £2.7 million on bringing him to Ibrox last summer.

They stood a chance of recouping a big chunk of their outlay if Pena hit the ground running in Mexico, but he is clearly struggling and therefore his form will have a knock-on effect for his value.
Still, Pena, who only turned 28, has another nine months to go on his deal with Azul and has time on his side to turn things around. Question is, does he have the confidence to do that? Time will tell.
