The on loan Manchester City winger was outshone by Celtic teammate James Forrest on Wednesday.

Celtic waited all summer to sign him again, but Patrick Roberts’ performances this season haven’t been to everyone’s liking. Roberts had spent the previous 18 months on loan at Celtic Park from Manchester City, and the impression he made was such that clubs south of the border and across Europe were reported to be queuing up to sign him.
It is claimed that Celtic were even willing to break their £6 million transfer record to secure Roberts’ signature, but had to settle for another temporary deal after the Englishman opted for a return to Glasgow ahead of other offers.
Since then, Roberts has started three out of four matches for Brendan Rodgers’ side, but is yet to score or assist a single goal.

In contrast, another Celtic winger, James Forrest has directly contributed to five goals in that time, scoring all but one of those himself.
And after Forrest’s double in Wednesday’s Scottish League Cup success at Dundee, some Bhoys fans are calling for Roberts to be dropped for Sunday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox…
