Tottenham Hotspur fans aren’t best pleased with Giovani Lo Celso, who was posing for photos on his way to international duty again.
Next stop: Argentina
Lo Celso caused great frustration at Tottenham earlier this campaign, when he went to play for Argentina and then found himself unavailable for Spurs after the international break, after breaking covid restrictions.
Although the Premier League have come to an agreement to stop the issue from happening this time around, providing the players are double jabbed, Tottenham fans are still fearful over Lo Celso’s decision to link up with his country.
Lo Celso has not always come back from international duty in full health.
And after an encouraging showing against Mura in Tottenham’s last European match, Spurs fans really don’t want to see Lo Celso deemed unavailable again.
A frustrating signing?
Representing Argentina clearly means a lot to Lo Celso, but Tottenham fans’ frustrations at him are rather understandable.
It must be noted that Argentina’s final game of the international break is in the early hours of Friday morning, with Tottenham due to be in action on the Sunday against Newcastle.
That limits the chances of Lo Celso featuring in the contest at St. James’ Park severely.
The attacking midfielder has not quite lived up to his price tag since joining Spurs and he has now been at the club for well over two years.
Lo Celso just hasn’t stayed fit regularly enough, and while Tanguy Ndombele is often focused upon, he was also a big money signing for Spurs who is yet to really work out.
