Gary Neville has taken to Twitter to share one thing Everton keep doing that’s been ‘annoying’ him during the 2020/21 season.

When asked where he thinks the Toffees will finish this term, the Sky Sports pundit delivered a hard-hitting response.

You can see what Neville tweeted below.

We couldn’t agree more with the 46-year-old.

It really has been a stuttering season for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Whenever it looks like they have a bit of wind in their sails, the Merseysiders just keep slipping up.

Most recently, three wins in a row against Liverpool, Southampton and West Brom made it seem as if Everton could mount a late charge for the top four.

However, a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea followed, before disappointing results against Burnley and Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Everton lost 2-1 to the Clarets, and could only draw 1-1 against the Eagles despite having a number of golden opportunities.

As a result, they now sit eighth, five points off the top four.

That isn’t awful, but had Everton won against Burnley and Crystal Palace, they’d be firmly in the mix for a place in next season’s Champions League.

There are a lot of positives to take from this season, and Ancelotti is clearly guiding the Toffees in the right direction.

However, it seems like there’s something of a mentality problem within Everton’s squad – they just can’t stop letting themselves down at crucial moments, as Neville states.

Hopefully next season, we’ll see a more mature Everton who can overcome this hurdle.
