Nelly Korda pipped Charley Hull to the US Women’s Open title at Riviera on Sunday.
It was yet another heartbreaking defeat for Hull, who produced some truly sensational golf over the weekend in Pacific Palisades.
She had to watch Korda win her fourth major title and was forced to make do with the bridesmaid role yet again.
The 30-year-old posted rounds of 65 and 67 to finish at seven-under-par for the tournament after opening up with rounds of 73 and 72.
Charley Hull now has five runner-up finishes to her name in the major championships.
The 30-year-old is clearly more than deserving of a major win, given her thrilling playing style and likeable demeanour.

Hull demanded more interest from fans in the women’s game last week, but she couldn’t have asked for more support on Sunday at Riviera.
Nelly Korda just had too much for the Englishwoman in the end after the American birdied the 17th and made par on the final hole.
Korda just missed out on winning the US Women’s Open last year at Erin Hills, but she finally got over the line on Sunday, winning her fourth major title in the process.
Charley Hull makes comment about Nelly Korda after the US Women’s Open
Hull congratulated Korda after she won The Chevron Championship last month.
And the 30-year-old from Kettering, England, made a comment on the world number one when speaking to reporters after her final round at Riviera on Sunday evening.
Hull spoke to reporters after her final round, and responded when asked to share her emotions.
“It’s just frustrating. Another second place. I think that’s five second place finishes I’ve had in majors now,“ she said.

“So, yeah, it’s pretty annoying, but I played really well the last day. Obviously missed a couple putts on the back nine, but it was quite windy and I hit the ball fantastic so fair play to Nelly Korda for back-to-back wins.
“But I just love playing in the majors. Like I pretty much only get up for the majors, it’s really weird. I just love playing in majors, like, if it’s a normal week-to-week I struggle sometimes getting the motivation.
“But when it comes to major weeks, I just love it. If I just even make the cut I feel like at the weekend I can make a massive charge.
“But, no, I loved it out there. It was so much fun. The crowds were great and it was nice to see so many young kids around.“
Charley Hull’s time will come
Charley Hull was obviously annoyed at her failure to win a major once again, but she can be mightily proud of her efforts.
Korda was just too good for everyone in the field at Riviera this week.
The 27-year-old American’s short game was exceptional and she proved just how deep she can dig when the going gets tough.
Hull’s time will undoubtedly come soon. She has everything needed to win a major championship.
However, she must get sharper in the first two rounds of tournaments so she doesn’t leave herself such huge mountains to climb.
Nelly Korda has set the benchmark and now Charley Hull needs to gain inspiration from her close friend, and the manner in which she goes about her business.
