Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konaté changed his Instagram bio.

Why do Liverpool fans care about this, you might ask?

Well, the Frenchman has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old has agreed personal terms with Jürgen Klopp’s side.

Now, Liverpool just need to meet his €35 million (£30 million) release clause, and the deal should be finalised.

Konaté himself sparked plenty of Liverpool fans into a frenzy today when he altered his bio, removing the words ‘RB Leipzig player’ from his account.

You might think that’s relatively insignificant, but in this day and age, a lot can be taken from how footballers use their social media.

That can especially be said of young players, such as Konaté, who are more tech-savvy than the older generation.

If this is the first business Liverpool do this summer, it will be sensible.

Liverpool’s injury problems in the centre-back department have completely derailed their season.

In that respect, it is imperative that some new faces – preferably some who aren’t injury prone – arrive at Anfield to bolster that area.

In Konaté, the Reds have identified an excellent young prodigy, who already has loads of experience under his belt at the top level.

The Paris-born colossus has played in the Champions League and the Europa League.

He has also battled with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga.
