Liverpool fans will be worried about their Champions League qualification chances following an announcement from Manchester United.
As things stand, Jürgen Klopp’s side sit fifth in the Premier League on 65 points, while Erik ten Hag’s men are fourth on 66 points – albeit with a game in hand over the Reds.
Now – however – Manchester United have received a significant boost in their battle to fend off Liverpool.
What’s the story?
Well – as revealed on Manchester United’s official website – Marcus Rashford is now back in training.
The England international missed Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday due to a leg injury, leading many to question whether he would be fit for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.

Without Rashford – Manchester United’s top scorer this season with 29 goals in all competitions – there was a realistic chance that the Red Devils might slip up against a Bournemouth side who have recently defeated Liverpool and Tottenham.
While Klopp surely wouldn’t wish an injury on any opponent, the German would have presumably hoped to see Ten Hag go without his No.10, who Trent Alexander-Arnold rates highly, for the trip to the Vitality Stadium.
However, the 25-year-old now looks ready to come back into the starting XI for what is a must win game, something Liverpool fans will not be too pleased about.
Liverpool may not need Manchester United to slip up
In truth, both Liverpool and Manchester United could qualify for the Champions League.
Newcastle – who sit third on goal difference with 66 points – have a very tricky encounter against Brighton to come on Thursday evening.
The Seagulls will come into that game at St James’ Park full of confidence after beating Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
If the Magpies lose, then it opens the door for Liverpool to put serious pressure on Eddie Howe’s side in the final two games of the Premier League campaign.
At one point, Liverpool looked to have no chance of making the top four – now, anything is possible after a run of seven successive wins for Klopp’s men.
