Villa signed Henri Lansbury on Friday, and could be set to add Hourihane sooner rather than later.
Aston Villa fans are only just getting used to the news that they have signed Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury but it appears Conor Hourihane could soon follow, if owner Tony Xia’s Twitter activity is anything to go by.
Xia has gained notoriety for his prolific use of the social networking site, using it as a platform to interact with fans and update them on transfer deals in a refreshingly transparent approach.
On Thursday night, without naming Lansbury, he confirmed that a deal was the be announced by noon on Friday, and sure enough Villa went public with the purchase of the midfielder.

Now, Xia appears to have dropped another huge hint that a second signing is all but completed, by following widely-linked Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane on Twitter.
Villa have been on a mission to boost their central midfield options, where they have been thin on the ground for much of the season thus far.

The signing of Lansbury is a very encouraging first capture, and if they can complete a deal for Hourihane their midfield immediately looks stronger.
Villa fans will be hoping that Hourihane is pictured holding the claret-and-blue shirt aloft before the weekend so that the club can move on to other targets in different positions in the final days of the transfer window.
