Leeds United had one last deal up their sleeve on deadline day, as Rennes winger Raphinha arrived before the window slammed shut.
The Whites have enjoyed a strong window, bringing in impressive signings for Marcelo Bielsa’s first team and the Under-23’s.
Now though, Leeds appear to be facing interest in the man who has been co-ordinating all these signings – Victor Orta.
The Spaniard has been leading Leeds’ transfer business since arriving as director of football in 2017, with his early work a little patchy.
The likes of Felix Wiedwald, Caleb Ekuban, Ouasim Bouy, Jay-Roy Grot, Pawel Cibicki, Yosuke Ideguchi and Laurens De Bock proved to be disappointing seasons, leaving some fans disappointed.
Orta has been impressive in recent times though, and Calciomercato reported in August that Roma now want him.
The transfer window may be closed, but Orta could still move on – and managing director Angus Kinnear has stood firm on his future.

Speaking to Sky Sports (05/10, 9:25pm), Kinnear suggested that the interest in Orta is real, and it’s no great surprise, but Leeds want to keep him – and joked that his behaviour in the director’s box should put teams off.
“Victor’s been a massive part of everything in the Championship and the squad he’s building in the Premier League,” said Kinnear.
“So, there is interest from other clubs in Victor – it doesn’t surprise us – but we’re not letting him go anywhere. If they saw his behaviour in the director’s box, they wouldn’t want him either,” he added.
