Leeds United Chief Executive Angus Kinnear has named four Under-23 players who have huge potential, including former Arsenal youngster Sam Greenwood.

Speaking on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic, Kinnear said that Leeds need to sign players for the Under-23 side in the summer transfer window, as there are four players who could find themselves in the first-team squad next season.

Forward Greenwood, 19, Joe Gelhardt – also 19 and a forward – 19-year-old defender Cody Drameh and 19-year-old winger Crysencio Summerville are the Leeds prospects who have “huge potential”, according to the club’s Chief Executive.

Kinnear said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic: “There will also be a stream of recruitment at the Under-23 level where it does not get as much coverage, but I think Gelhardt, Greenwood, Drameh and Summerville have all got huge potential and starting to push for a first-team place, so there will be some recruitment at that level as well.”

Gelhardt, Drameh and Summerville very talented and promising young players, and their performances for the Leeds Under-23 side this season have been very encouraging indeed.

Greenwood especially is a player who will excite the fans.

The 19-year-old forward joined Leeds from Arsenal last summer for £3 million, as reported by The London Evening Standard.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Greenwood scored 12 goals in 18 Premier League 2 appearances for Leeds this season, and he could be a good support to Patrick Bamford in the senior side next season.

If Greenwood is able to break into the Leeds first team next season and does well in the Premier League, then he would be able to show Arsenal that their loss is the Whites’ gain.
