Leeds United have snapped up Helder Costa on loan from Wolves.

Andrea Radrizzani, Owner of Leeds United (L) looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

Leeds United’s managing director Angus Kinnear has told Leeds Live that anyone questioning Andrea Radrizzani’s commitment should look at the Helder Costa deal.

The Whites missed out on promotion to the Premier League with a play-off defeat to Derby County, and some have turned on Radrizzani as a result.

Many would say that he didn’t back Marcelo Bielsa enough in the January transfer window, as goalkeeper Kiko Casilla and midfielder Mateusz Bogusz were the only arrivals.

Since that defeat to Derby, Leeds have offloaded Pontus Jansson to Brentford and sold Jack Clarke to Tottenham before loaning him back, whilst there are concerns over the futures of Mateusz Klich, Kalvin Phillips and Kemar Roofe.

Some wonder whether Radrizzani will back Leeds to the Premier League with signings and get true value for the Leeds stars, questioning his investment and commitment.

However, Kinnear has now pointed towards the deal to sign Costa as proof of Radrizzani’s investment, as it’s cost a lot of money to sign such a ‘very special’ player.

“We’ve signed a very special player in Costa,” said Kinnear. “People questioning Radrizzani’s investment should look at the money spent on Costa,” he added.

Costa’s record in the Championship with Wolves – 15 goals and 14 assists in 71 games – has excited Leeds fans, and he got off to a great start with a goal against Guiseley last week.

The 25-year-old is initially on loan before the move is made permanent next summer, and Leeds will be hoping that he can fire the club to the Premier League – and Radrizzani would deserve some praise for that.
