Harry Kane was involved in the collision which led to Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere’s injury when Tottenham faced Bournemouth.
Tottenham fans have been standing up for star man Harry Kane over suggestions he had any intent in injuring rival Jack Wilshere.
Wilshere was injured at White Hart Lane last weekend while playing for loan club Bournemouth as his side slipped to a 4-0 loss.
The midfielder is a deeply unpopular figure on the Spurs side of North London after twice taunting them during Arsenal’s two FA Cup parades in 2014 and 2015.
Bournemouth’s Jack Wilshere receives medical attention
News broke yesterday that Wilshere is now out of action for the rest of the season after suffering a broken leg.
It was a collision with Harry Kane that did for him, with Wilshere injured as he attempted to tackle the Tottenham man.
This did not prevent a few tabloid websites dressing up the news as if Kane was guilty in any way, with The Express running the headline: ‘Pics: Tottenham star Harry Kane breaks Arsenal ace Jack Wilshere’s leg’.
Keen to ensure Kane’s reputation is not damaged and he does not become a target for what was purely an innocuous collision, Tottenham fans have been taking to social media to correct the newspaper and make very clear that Wilshere was the one making the tackle, and not Kane.
