Tavernier was made Rangers captain by Graeme Murty, the previous Ibrox boss, in February.

A number of angry Rangers fans are calling for James Tavernier to be stripped of the Ibrox captaincy.

Tavernier was handed the armband by Graeme Murty in February, and has worn it ever since.

However, not all Rangers fans are ready to write off Tavernier just yet…

Tavernier is one of Rangers’ longest serving players, having joined the Glasgow giants as a Championship club three years ago.

However, with a summer overhaul expected after Steven Gerrard’s appointment as Ibrox boss, it remains to be seen whether the 27-year-old will keep the armband next season.
