Angelo Ogbonna has taken to Twitter to send West Ham fan James Corden an uplifting message after the Hammers put up a brave fight in their Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

With City nearly flawless so far this season and with David Moyes’ men going into the clash at the Etihad Stadium off the back of a 4-0 hammering away at Everton, it appeared that there was never going to be anything other than a home win from Sunday’s contest.

And while it was Pep Guardiola’s men who took the three points, the Irons pushed them and gave City a good scare. It was Ogbonna who broke the deadlock just before the break with a header before the Cityzens turned the game around in the second-half.

Nicolas Otamendi levelled the game just before the hour-mark, and it was to be heartbreak for the Hammers with David Silva scoring seven minutes from time to leave Moyes’ men second-bottom in the table.

Television personality Corden sent out a series of tweets during the game consisting solely of emojis seemingly depending on which team had just scored, and that prompted the defender to take to social media after the contest to send out an incredibly encouraging message regarding what the Irons managed to do on Sunday and the confidence that they will take from the result.

And Corden also responded to the Italian’s message. And while the tweet only consisted of two words, it was clear that he was fully behind what Ogbonna had said.
