Angelo Ogbonna has admitted to West Ham United’s official website that he struggles to play against Andy Carroll in training.

Carroll has struggled for goals this season, but finally broke his duck in midweek, when he scored twice against West Bromwich Albion.

Carroll first headed home an Aaron Cresswell cross, before he powered home from close range to seal the three points.

Carroll now looks likely to start for West Ham against Tottenham Hotspur later this evening.

And Ogbonna believes that the target-man is the best option that his side have in the box.

“For me, in the penalty area, Andy is the best. Nobody can challenge him,” Ogbonna said.

“In training, I try every time to do something to stop him, because if you leave him alone, he’s going to score. With the power he has got and the pace he gets in his headers, he is difficult to stop.”
