Postecoglou has also said that Bissouma was late for training one day, but he has not repeated that mistake since.
Bissouma has made four appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season.
Postecoglou said about Bissouma: “Biss was here from the first day.
“I kind of grabbed him and I said to him, ‘The way he was training, the first three or four sessions with the younger guys, you can be a leader in this group’.

“I already knew about his ability, but the way he was training.
“He was late the next morning, so I said to him, ‘To be a leader means being on time’.
“And he has been good since then. So there’s always lessons to be learned there.”
Yves Bissouma flourishing at Tottenham now
Yves Bissouma is doing extremely well at Tottenham Hotspur at the moment and is flourishing under manager Ange Postecoglou.
Bissouma struggled to play regularly for Spurs under then manager Antonio Conte last season.
There were injury issues as well.
Bissouma moved to Tottenham from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2022.
The defensive midfielder made 10 starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham last season.
The Mali international defensive midfielder also made three substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the North London club last campaign.
Things are going well for Bissouma and for Spurs at the moment.
It will be interesting to see if the defensive midfielder is able to maintain his current high level of performance in the coming weeks and months.
Tottenham’s main objective this season is to finish in the top four of the Premier League table.
