Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has given his verdict on Radu Dragusin.
Postecoglou has been impressed with Dragusin in training, but the Spurs boss has suggested that the 22-year-old may not start anytime soon.
So, what has Ange Postecoglou said about Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin? Let’s take a look.
Ange Postecoglou comments on Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin
Well, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has been speaking about Radu Dragusin, and the former Celtic boss has been impressed.
Postecoglou has said that Dragusin is showing a great attitude at Tottenham and has impressed his teammates in training. He is rated highly by one Sky Sports pundit.
The former Celtic manager, though, has suggested that the 22-year-old central defender is unlikely to become a regular in the starting lineup anytime soon.
The Romania international joined Tottenham from Genoa in the January transfer window. Spurs paid an initial transfer fee of £21.5 million (Sky Sports). He has been backed to become a £100 million player in the future.
Dragusin has made three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs. He has played a total of just eight minutes.

Postecoglou told Football.London about Dragusin: “He has been great, he working hard. He was at Genoa and he was playing. If just playing was all he was interested in then he would have stayed at Genoa.
“If you want to move to big clubs then that’s part of the process. He knew that and that’s why I wanted him here because he knew the challenge of coming here and playing was not just going to be a given.
“It’s about working your way. He’s adapting. We play a lot differently to what he’s used to, we’ve used him in games and I think he’s done well when we’ve used him.
“Again, we didn’t buy him for six months, we brought him to this football club for a long time and we’ve already seen this year what losing our two central defenders what impact that had on our season. I don’t want that to happen in the future so Radu is here for that and the next three to four months before the end of the season it’s about him adapting and working hard.
“He’s been outstanding in training, great attitude, great amongst the players. The players can really see the qualities he has and he’s ready to play.”
My View: Radu Dragusin has to be patient
In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur central defender Radu Dragusin has to be patient.
Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are the two main centre-backs for Spurs. They have been very good when they have played together this season.
When Romero and Van de Ven are not injured, fit, not suspended and available, then they will play.
Dragusin will just have to be patient. He is only 22 and is still a very young player. For the final weeks and months of the season, it is all about the Romania international settling in and getting used to the Premier League.
