Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has praised Dejan Kulusevski after his performance against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Dejan Kulusevski was simply ‘excellent’ as Tottenham Hotspur drew 3-3 with Manchester City.
That is the verdict of Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, who has been speaking to BBC Sport following Sunday’s draw.
Few were giving Tottenham much of a chance as they headed to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs just wouldn’t lie down though and even after conceding a late goal to Jack Grealish, Kulusevski popped up with a header to secure a 3-3 draw.
Ange Postecoglou praises Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski
Kulusevski was a key man throughout for Tottenham, initially playing in a central role before moving out to his usual right-wing position.
The Swede set up Tottenham’s opener by picking out Son Heung-min to score before then bagging the late leveller.
Kulusevski put in a real shift too and earned deserved praise from Tottenham boss Postecoglou following the final whistle.
Postecoglou has told BBC Sport that he thinks Kulusevski was ‘excellent’ all game long and is a major part of Tottenham’s attack in the way he comes in from the right side.
Postecoglou adds that he thinks both Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson have more goals in them and we will hopefully see more of that moving forward.
“Deki [Kulusevski] was excellent the whole game and we count on him attacking the box from that side,” said Postecoglou. “Him and Brennan [Johnson] have goals in them, we haven’t had enough out of them yet but they are there. It’s great those two combined for a great goal at the end,” he added.

Kulusevski proving to be a nemesis for Manchester City
City have conquered the world under Pep Guardiola, famously winning the treble last season.
One thing they haven’t quite overcome is facing Kulusevski at the Etihad Stadium.
Kulusevski has now played against City three times at the Etihad since joining Tottenham from Juventus in January 2022.
Remarkably, Kulusevski has scored in each of his visits to City’s home, proving to be something of a nemesis for Guardiola’s side.
That’s a strange quirk and Postecoglou will ultimately hope to see Kulusevski score a few more goals against other sides moving forward.
