Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers will face Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic at Ibrox in the Old Firm derby this weekend, and James Tavernier will be a key player.

Tavernier is one of the best players at Rangers and is one of the best right-backs in the Scottish Premiership.
The former Newcastle United right-back has scored six goals and provided eight assists in 29 Scottish Premiership appearances for Graeme Murty’s side so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com.
The 26-year-old defender will be a key player for Rangers in the Old Firm derby against Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the match, former Celtic striker Walker has praised Tavernier, suggesting that he has been the Gers’ most effective player so far this season.
Walker told The Daily Mail: “Sinclair will likely be going up against James Tavernier, who I think has arguably been Rangers’ most effective player this season. He has been terrific.”

Key player
Tavernier has gone from strength to strength at Rangers since his move from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £200,000 and when Mark Warburton was the Gers manager.
The defender is very good going forward and also is very good defensively, and he is going to be key for Rangers against Celtic this weekend.
