Rangers and Celtic will return to action this weekend. While Graeme Murty’s side will take on Ross County away from home in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon, the Hoops will face Hibernian at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Gers will head into the match against County at the Global Energy Stadium on the back of 2-0 victory over Aberdeen at Ibrox.
The performance of the Glasgow giants against the Dons was briliant, and they are now clearly the favourites for the runners-up spot.
Celtic also picked up all three points from their last league game. Brendan Rodgers’s side got the better of Partick Thistle 2-1 away from home at the Firhill Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Hoops are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 54 points from 23 matches, as many as 11 points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers.
Former Celtic striker Andy Walker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has backed both the Hoops and Rangers to win in the league this weekend.
Walker predicted on Skysports.com that Celtic will win 4-0 and backed Olivier Ntcham to score the opening goal, and wrote: “He’s a quality player getting an extended run in the team in the absence of Stuart Armstrong.”
The former Celtic striker predicted on Skysports.com that Rangers will win 2-1 and backed James Tavernier to score the opening goal, and wrote: “He was outstanding against Aberdeen in midweek, scored one and created another.”
