Andy Walker has told Sky Sports News (29/11/20 at 4:00 pm) that there will be ‘demonstrations tonight in places’ with Celtic fans demanding Neil Lennon to be sacked.

If things couldn’t go from bad worse, well it did this afternoon when they were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup by Ross County.

Whether it’s in the Premiership, in the domestic cups or in Europe, it has been disaster result and performance after disaster result and performance from the champions.

A passionate and emotional Walker shared his thoughts on Lennon’s future as everything unfolded at Parkhead.

“I think the truth is Neil Lennon won’t survive this,” said Walker. “He cannot possibly survive this humiliating defeat.

“11 points behind Rangers in the league. They are out of the Europa League group stages with a couple of games to go. Two wins in nine before today and now two wins in ten. This is an embarrassment for every Celtic supporter watching.

“I know that Neil Lennon said that the board and the major shareholder Dermot Desmond were standing by him and giving Neil their support. I don’t think he can survive this. It’s too humiliating.

“I know the Celtic board have been sleeping of late but surely they will wake up. If they don’t do anything about this, I am born and bred in Glasgow, I think I know a number of Celtic supporters and I know that they care.

“There will be demonstrations tonight in places with them demanding that some sort of change is made.”

When Lennon replaced Brendan Rodgers in the Celtic dugout, there question marks over his return and whether he could guide the team to success.

But he proved many wrong as he delivered the goods for the Bhoys, but during this campaign, it has gone well and truly wrong.

It would be a massive surprise if Lennon survives this because he will, more than likely, be heading for the exit door during these next 24 hours.
