Rangers have won three games on the bounce during Alfredo Morelos’ time on the sidelines.

Andy Walker has stated that Rangers are playing much better football without their suspended striker Alfredo Morelos.
The Sky Sports pundit pointed out that Jermain Defoe is leading the line really well, while the likes of Daniel Candeias and Scott Arfield are also benefitting. Added with that, they are playing ‘a lot of good football’ and its ‘more on the ground’.
Furthermore, Walker also feels that Rangers’ football without Morelos is ‘more free-flowing’, with more ‘movement’ and ‘mobility’.
Speaking to Football Centre on Sky Sports News, former Premiership player Walker spoke about how Steven Gerrard’s side are performing without their key man up front.
“As you saw at the weekend, Rangers with Jermain Defoe up in attack, I thought he led the line really well,” Walker told Sky Sports News. “I thought you had players like Candeias and Arfield getting up in support of him really well and Rangers played a lot of good football.
“Morelos can occupy a back four all on his own. But I think there is a different style to Rangers when Defoe plays. It’s more on the ground. It’s more free-flowing. There’s more movement. There’s more mobility.”

Over the weekend, the Gers recorded a deserved 3-1 win at Scottish Cup finalists Hearts with Bournemouth loanee Defoe leading the line and getting on the scoresheet.
Since losing to their Old Firm rivals Celtic last month, Gerrard’s side have responded in the best manner because they have won three games on the bounce.
Defoe, who has led the line during those games, has performed brilliantly, scoring and assisting his teammates, with Arfield befitting the most.
Upon Morelos’ return to action, it remains to be seen if Gerrard does put him back into the starting XI or stick with his more experienced campaigner up top.
