Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been in fine form in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Andy Walker has stated that Alfredo Morelos has ‘the ability’ to produce ‘stupid behaviour’ ahead of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership clash against Aberdeen on Wednesday night.

The former Celtic player claimed that 22-year-old Morelos was ‘really annoyed’ after he didn’t take any of the four penalties which were awarded to the Gers during their 4-0 win against St Mirren on Saturday.

Instead, defender James Tavernier took three of the spot kicks – missing one – with Jermain Defoe netting the other as Ryan Kent scored his side’s fourth goal from open play [BBC Sport].

Nonetheless, Walker commented on Morelos’ ‘short fuse’ on the pitch, which has resulted in him picking up a number of bookings this season.

“He does have a short fuse,” Walker told Sky Sports News on 05/02/2019. “He does have the ability for petulant kicks for stupid behaviour and I think it’s something Steven Gerrard will do on a regular basis with Alfredo Morelos.

“He wasn’t happy at the weekend, Morelos when he wasn’t allowed to take a penalty against St Mirren. He had a bit of look on him that told you he was really annoyed with it all. I think he is the type of player every opposition manager will target.”

Over the course of the season, Morelos has played 36 matches in all competitions for his side, scoring 20 goals and supplying his teammates with 10 assists, according to transfermarkt.

Added with that, he has been in the referee’s book on 13 occasions and was sent off during his side’s 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen in December.

Nonetheless, Morelos will be hoping to add to his tally when his side travel to Pittodrie on Wednesday evening for a mouthwatering Scottish Premiership encounter.

Three points could see Gerrard and his team potentially close the six-point gap on leaders Celtic, who host Hibernian in the Premiership on the same day.
