Andy Townsend was asked whether he would want Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku or Sergio Aguero in his dream team.

Andy Townsend has told The Debate on Sky Sports (broadcast on 18th September 2017 from 10:00 pm) that Harry Kane is the player he would go out and buy if he was a manager with a blank cheque when asked who he would want out of the Tottenham star, Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero.

The Premier League appears to be blessed at the moment, with some of the finest goalscorers in the world currently plying their trade in the division.

Both Aguero and Lukaku find themselves at the top of the top flight’s scoring charts this term, with the pair both scoring five times from their respective sides’ opening five games.

Meanwhile, Kane is further back after failing to find the back of the net in August. His brace against Everton remain his only Spurs goals so far this term, but he has scored six in his last five for club and country.

Interestingly however, Townsend is adamant that the Tottenham star is the one that he would choose to sign out of the three if given the opportunity, but suggested that signing him would command a fee that would be close to setting a new transfer record.

Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur shows appreciation to the fans after the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on August 20, 2017 in London, England.

“Harry Kane for me, definitely. If I was a manager of a Premier League club and my chairman said to me, ‘go and buy who you like, I’ve got the money, go and do it’, he’d be the one I’d go and buy,” he told The Debate on Sky Sports.

“Yeah he’s going to be in that sort of bracket,” he added, when asked whether he would be worth £200 million.

“He’s going to be £150 million plus because ever since he’s got into that Tottenham team, he’s had a focus, he’s had a determination about what he does, he looks after himself, knows what he’s good at, scores all types of goals, he’s a top operator.”

Given how Kane has recovered from slow starts in the past couple of seasons, it would certainly not be a surprise if he justified Townsend’s faith this term also by reaching the 20-league goal mark for a fourth campaign in a row.
