Andy Townsend praises Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka

Andy Townsend said on talkSPORT (6:41pm, February 8, 2021) that Bukayo Saka has been brilliant for Arsenal this season.

The former Chelsea and Aston Villa midfielder has been impressed by the versatility of Saka, and believes that he is a player manager Mikel Arteta can trust.

Townsend said about Saka on talkSPORT (6:41pm, February 8, 2021): “He has been amazing for Arsenal. He has been brilliant.

“Whether you play him off the left side, off the right side, wherever Mikel Arteta sees him operate in, again he is another one of these kids that you can put in there and you trust him.”

Shining light

Saka can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger, and the England international has established himself as an important player for Arsenal.

The 19-year-old drives the team forward, is a willing runner, and always looks to make things happen.

According to WhoScored, the teenager has made 19 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in the process.

The English youngster has also made one start and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Arsenal so far this campaign, providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.

Arsenal are still in the running for the Champions League places, and for the Gunners to finish in the Premier League top four, Saka will have to be on top of his game in the final months of the season.
