Did Tottenham try to put Moussa Sissoko in the shop window? If so it did not really work…
Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko waits with manager Mauricio Pochettino
Moussa Sissoko got a rare start for Tottenham Hotspur last night, his eighth in the Premier League this season.
The Frenchman’s inclusion came largely with the game a dead rubber from Tottenham’s perspective, with head coach Mauricio Pochettino changing his side around.
BBC Sport pundit Andy Townsend suggested Tottenham selected him to try and help the Frenchman secure a summer transfer.
He said: “I don’t see the fit in this team. He is being given game time to put him in the window.
“Long term he doesn’t have a future at Spurs.”

Sissoko likely does not have a future at Tottenham beyond this summer with the Frenchman unhappy at his lack of action, having lost his place in Les Bleus international squad.
He didn’t look like fitting in at Spurs from day one, and last night was no different.
He was selected in an unfamiliar wing back role, and his disappointing performance was par for the course and not unexpected.

Yet when this is the only action Spurs are able to offer him, the writing is on the wall. Last night was as much about putting simply putting an eleven out who could do a professional job and try and win the game.
If they believed this game was going to help Sissoko clinch a transfer this summer then they were misguided, but it will have underlined their own stance that he should be moved on as soon as possible.
