Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has been struggling with injury issues.
Wanyama has made just one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season, according to WhoScored.
During the 2017-18 campaign, the former Celtic defensive midfielder was able to make only eight starts and just 10 substitute appearances in the league for Spurs, according to WhoScored.
Townsend said on The Monday Night Club show on BBC Radio 5 live on Monday evening (7:29pm, January 21, 2019): “I think Wanyama’s days at Spurs are gone really.”
No future at Tottenham Hotspur?
Wanyama has had injury issues this season, and it is not going to be easy for the former Celtic and Southampton star to regain his place in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham team when he does recover.
Spurs are doing well without the Kenya international defensive midfielder at the moment, but the North London outfit should not sell him in the January transfer window due to injury issues they have at the moment.
Perhaps in the summer of 2019 Tottenham should look at selling the Kenyan, but for now, they should keep hold of him.
