QPR went down 2-1 to Preston away from home at Deepdale in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers took the lead after 36 minutes through Kazenga Lua Lua, but the home team staged a successful comeback.
Aiden McGeady equalised for Preston on the stroke of half time, and Jordan Hugill doubled the advantage on 71 minutes.
QPR ended the game with 10 men due to the sending-off of Luke Freeman in the 78th minute.
