Speaking to The Mirror, Andy Robertson has been discussing Kostas Tsimikas and his determination at the training ground.
Tsimikas joined Liverpool last summer, but he’s really stepped up this season after a stop-start first campaign that was hampered by covid and a knee injury.
Robertson has been full of praise for Tsimikas’ determination to recover from these setbacks and prove himself at Liverpool.
What’s been said about Tsimikas?
Robertson spoke about Tsimikas’ work behind the scenes and his determination to make an impact at the club.
“Last season he had Covid, which I think wiped him out for a few weeks, and then he had a nasty knee injury. So it was tough, but he was constantly working hard,” said Robertson.
“The position we were in in terms of not having many options due to injuries [last season] meant that I ended up playing every game, but he was still working hard.
“He’s a really good player, Kostas. We get on well. He’s good to have about the changing room, he’s really lively.”

Mentality monster
Jurgen Klopp once described his Liverpool squad as mentality monsters, and it seems as though Tsimikas really does fit into that profile.
The Greek had such an uphill task upon joining Liverpool. He had covid and a knee injury to contend with last year, while he also had to compete with a player who is arguably the best left-back in the world.
However, he’s proven his ability this season, so much so that fans have even called for him to get a starting spot in Klopp’s side.
Tsimikas deserves all of the praise in the world for the amount of work he’s put in since joining Liverpool.
