Andy Robertson has raved about his Liverpool teammate Curtis Jones to The Times.
The 26-year-old Scotland international left-back believes that Jones has taken his game to a whole new level.
Robertson has pointed at the 19-year-old midfielder’s performance for Liverpool in their 4-3 win against Leeds United at Anfield in the Premier League last weekend.
Robertson told The Times about Jones: “The kids are unbelievable. We try to take them under our wing. Curtis Jones has taken his game to a whole new level in the last year or two. And now he’s ready. He showed that against Leeds.”
Stats
According to WhoScored, Jones made one start and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool last season, scoring one goal in the process.
Against Leeds at Anfield last weekend, the England Under-19 international played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 80%, and took 28 touches, according to WhoScored.
One for the future
Jones is only 19 years of age, and he cannot be expected to become a regular in the Liverpool team right now.
It is great that the teenager is progressing well, and he will continue to do so under manager Jurgen Klopp in the coming months and years.
Getting playing time at regular intervals in the Premier League and in the Champions League this season will see Jones get better and improve his game.
