Andy Robertson has claimed that Liverpool forward Mo Salah is ‘incredibly underrated’ and ‘right up there’ in being one of the best players in the world, as he told Premier League Productions (03/10/21 at 6:50 pm).
It’s a crying shame that Robertson feels that way about Salah, and how he thinks his Liverpool teammate is underappreciated, because he has done enough in England for him not to be thought of in that way.
For a number of years now, and his Premier League and Champions League trophies are proof, the flying Liverpool forward has been one of the best players around.
But perhaps the Liverpool superstar hasn’t got the recognition from the outside like a Harry Kane would, even though he has zero trophies in his cabinet.
Not only that, Salah recently joined the Premier League’s 100 goal club, which etches his name into the history books forever.
And whilst Salah has been working his magic for a number of years now, this is probably the best form he has ever been in and Robertson gets to see it first hand.
“He’s right up there, for me,” said Robertson. “I still think he is incredibly underrated in terms of the the way people speak about him.
“The goal is something out of the top, top draw. It’s just a shame that it wasn’t the winning goal.
“For somebody to pop up with that, it really is sensational. Mo is an incredible pro. An incredible footballer and an incredible person.
“Off the pitch, he works hard. To keep fit, to stay in the shape that he is, to put everything into his game and to improve. He is getting better and better. That goal is right up there with his best for Liverpool.”

Salah may not score many better goals than the one he netted on Sunday against the Premier League champions.
There are more important goals he has scored, such as the penalty in the Champions League final.
But, in terms of quality, that run, manipulation of the ball, out-foxing his opponents and then being lethal enough to put the ball into the back of the net is a strike that will be remembered for a long time.
