The Reds finished fourth in the Premier League last season and as Champions League runners-up.
After a short break, the Liverpool stars not involved at the World Cup returned to Melwood yesterday to resume work with Jurgen Klopp.
Out in the glaring sunshine, Reds stars were put through their paces by the coaching staff and several players commented afterwards, showing how happy they were to be back.
These included Andy Robertson, James Milner, Dominic Solanke and Loris Karius.
All of the Liverpool players had one thing in common, big smiles.
Even Champions League final fall guy Loris Karius looked delighted to be back out there, getting back to work for the Reds.
Liverpool play their first pre-season game against Chester on Saturday July 7.
