Rhys Williams has gone on loan again, this time he leaves Liverpool for Blackpool during the 2022-23 campaign and plenty have given their reaction to the move – including Fabinho, Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones.

Williams, 21, spent the first half of last season on loan at Swansea City but struggled. The England youth international, who has played 19 times for Liverpool’s senior side, only managed seven appearances for the Welsh club.

Signing a five-year at Liverpool last summer, the centre-back will be hoping for a much better campaign under Michael Appleton. Indeed, he will be hoping to establish himself as first choice and clock up at least 40 appearances.

Williams took to Instagram following the move to the second-tier English side, underlining his delight at joining Blackpool. He will link-up with ex-Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart at Bloomfield Road.

Second time lucky, hopefully, for both Williams and Liverpool. After a brilliant breakthrough season at Liverpool in which he impressed at centre-back, following injury to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomes, he has stuttered.

A poor loan at Swansea saw him return midway through the season, but he struggled to make any kind of an impact. Now, he will be hoping to finally get some regular first-team football under Appleton with the Tangerines.

Clearly well-liked at Liverpool, plenty responded including first-team stars Robertson, Fabinho, Jones and Harvey Elliott – who all wished him the best of luck on Instagram.
