Andy Ritchie has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that Mateusz Klich is a good signing for Leeds United.
Championship club Leeds recently completed the signing of Klich from Dutch outfit FC Twente in the summer transfer window.
According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, the West Yorkshire outfit had to pay Twente a transfer fee of £1.5 million in order to secure the services of the 27-year-old midfielder.
Former Leeds striker Ritchie, who is 56 years of age, has suggested that the Poland international midfielder will prove to be a good signing for the Whites.
“You have got to be a half-decent player to be an international,” Ritchie told The Yorkshire Evening Post when asked about Klich.
“He’s a good age, he’s coming into his prime and reading what he’s said – he is impressed by the football club. Who wouldn’t be?
“He wants to give himself a step up in level in terms of his domestic football because he feels that that’s what he is going to get playing in the Championship which is great for him.”
Klich is a very good midfielder, and the Poland international is going to enhance the quality of the current Leeds team.
The former 1. FC Kaiserslautern man has arrived at Elland Road with a strong reputation, and he could play a major role in Leeds’s quest to finish in the top six of the Championship next season.
During the 2016-17 season, Klich scored six goals and provided four assists in 29 Eredivisie appearances for Twente, according to WhoScored.
