Leeds United have been linked with Norwich City’s Jonny Howson in the summer transfer window.

Andy Ritchie has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson would be a good signing for Leeds United.

According to The Mirror, Leeds are interested in signing Howson from Championship rivals Norwich in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the Canaries want £5 million as transfer fee in order to part company with the 29-year-old midfielder.

The former England Under-21 international came through Leeds’s youth academy and was on the books of the Championship club until 2012.

Howson has been on the books of Norwich since then, and has featured in the Premier League with the Canaries.

The 29-year-old midfielder played in 38 Championship matches for Norwich during the 2016-17 season, scoring six goals and providing seven assist in the process.

Former Leeds striker Ritchie believes that Howson would be a good signing for Leeds in the summer transfer window.

“I think Jonny is a fantastic player,” Ritchie told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “He’s a Leeds lad, he’s a Leeds fan and I think that makes a big difference to anybody, especially if they are coming back to the club that they support.

“And I really do like Jonny and I would go for Jonny, definitely. He’s a fantastic player and I know him really well anyway because he was in the system as a young kid there when I was in the system. He’s a great player.”

Leeds narrowly failed to finish in the top six of the Championship during the 2016-17 campaign.
