Burke has joined Celtic on loan for the rest of the season from West Bromwich Albion.

Andy Reid has urged new Celtic signing Oliver Burke not to “let me down” and help Brendan Rodgers’ side hold aloft their eighth consecutive Scottish Premiership title come May.
The Hoops have responded to Rangers’ signings of Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis, by bringing in Scotland international Burke from Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
Burke, 21, has fallen by the wayside since his explosive breakthrough at Nottingham Forest saw him burst onto the scene and earn a big-money move to RB Leipzig. But he struggled for game time, and form.
Just one goal in 26 games, and he returned to Britain with West Brom. But he has suffered the same fate, and a loan to Celtic could see him reignite his previous form. Ex-Ireland midfielder Reid wants Burke to “win that league for us”.
Burke comes at a time where Celtic are struggling out wide. Scott Sinclair’s form has been indifferent, while Lewis Morgan and Jonny Hayes have been in and out of the side. Daniel Arzani is sidelined for the entire season.
The versatile attacker gives the Hoops another option out wide but also much-needed cover up front, with Celtic lacking in options after recent injuries to Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths taking time out from football.
It remains to be seen if Burke can rediscover the form that saw him break into Forest’s senior side before earning a move to Germany, by pushing Celtic to the title. Reid played alongside Burke at Nottingham Forest, towards the end of Reid’c career.
