Nottingham Forest are currently in 18th place in the Championship table.

Andy Reid has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 25th November, that Nottingham Forest should be doing much better this season.

Forest have struggled throughout the campaign so far, and they currently sit in 18th place in the Championship table.

The Reds are only three points clear of the relegation zone, and frustrations have been clear at the City Ground this season.

However, Forest did show signs of promise in their last match against Ipswich Town.

The Reds ran out 2-0 winners at Portman Road, thanks to goals from Britt Assombalonga, and Reid is hoping that his former club can kick on from that victory.

“Definitely, it should be better with the squad that they have got,” Reid said of Forest’s form. “There’s a lot of off field problems. They need the takeover to get sorted out pretty quickly, but you can use that as an excuse.

“If you look at the players they have out on the pitch they will admit that they need to be doing better.

“I watched them against Ipswich and thought they played well. They will be positive after that, and will be hoping to take that form into the game tonight.”

Rumours have already began circulating about Philippe Montanier’s future at Forest, with the manager seemingly under pressure to start picking up some victories.

Forest’s next match comes against Barnsley at Oakwell this evening. The Reds go into the contest knowing that if they win they will move to within five points of the play off places, prior to this weekend’s matches.
