Ex-Rangers youngster has a chance to shine at Ibrox in cup clash.
Rangers hope their League Cup quarter final with Ayr will be a crushing victory in their favour.
After dominant back to back home wins, Rangers have reason to be confident.
So do opponents Ayr, who are top of the Championship and have lost just one league game all season.
One notable player who will be looking to enjoy his night for Ayr is former Rangers academy talent Andy Murdoch.
Murdoch made 22 first team appearances for Rangers, scoring once, making his debut as a teenager back in 2013.
He was eventually released in the summer of 2016 after Rangers had reached the Premiership, and joined Greenock Morton.
After two seasons as a regular for Morton he signed for Ayr this summer and hasn’t looked back.
Murdoch has played in five League Cup games to get to this point for Ayr, winning all five, and providing two assists.
He has also been a weekly starter in the league as Ayr reach the top of the table.
Now his destiny is to return to Ibrox and try to prove a point.
It will be so difficult for him up against Steven Gerrard’s confident side, but he won’t be phased by the atmosphere and challenge which lies ahead.
