Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to former Reds goalkeeper Andy Lonergan making the move to Merseyside rivals and Rafael Benitez’s Everton.
What’s the story?
Everton have announced on their official website today that they have signed former Liverpool goalkeeper Lonergan on a free transfer.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract with the Toffees until the end of the season.
Harry Tyrer is injured, while Joao Virginia is set to leave Everton on loan this summer.
So, Everton needed a third-choice goalkeeper behind Jordan Pickford and Asmir Begovic for this season.
Thus, the Toffees have signed former Liverpool man Lonergan.

Lonergan spent the 2019-20 season at Liverpool and actually won the Premier League title with the Reds.

The goalkeeper did not make a single competitive appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
It is quite interesting that Lonergan has now decided to move to the Toffees following Benitez crossing the Merseyside divide.
Benitez is a former Liverpool manager who won the Champions League with the Anfield outfit, and he was appointed as the Everton boss earlier this summer.
