The new Rangers recruit could make his first start for Steven Gerrard’s side in the Scottish League Cup – a competition with which he wasn’t all too familiar.

Andy King has cited the chance to win trophies as one of the main reasons he chose to join Rangers.
King moved to Ibrox on a season-long loan deal in August and is still working his way into Steven Gerrard’s plans.
The Rangers manager currently has a wealth of options in the midfielder’s position.
But King’s experience is sure to come in handy as Rangers look to compete on four fronts – the Scottish Premiership, Cup and League Cup, as well as the Europa League – this season.
The 30-year-old won the English League One, Championship and Premier League with his parent club, Leicester City.
And asked if he saw his move as a chance to continue that success, King told the official Rangers podcast: “Yeah, definitely.
“I knew that coming here was going to be an opportunity to play in a lot of competitions. Playing in European competitions is massive, I really enjoyed that last time (the Champions League with Leicester).
“I’ve had it with international games (for Wales) as well and it’s something that I really enjoyed, that style of football.
“But it was the whole pull of the club in general. The size of it, the manager, the way we play and stuff like that was all pointing in the right direction. So I couldn’t wait to join up with the lads and get going.”

King could make his first Rangers start against Livingston in the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday.
It is a competition the former Chelsea youngster knew little about before he moved north of the border.
“I didn’t actually know when I first came that you could get a trophy before Christmas,” he explained. “So that’s massive in terms of momentum for the season. When you win trophies it gives you a feeling like no other.
“As a player, when you finish your career you want to look back on and remember those nights you won the trophies or look back on how many trophies you won so if we can try and get one on the board as early as possible, that would be massive.”
