Mark Warburton has brought a host of new faces to Ibrox this summer.
Andy Halliday has told Ranger’s official website that the increased competition at the club is only healthy for the side.
There has been a raft of new signings at Ibrox this summer, as manager Mark Warburton has brought in no fewer than eight new players so far.
The midfield has been strengthened significantly, with Joey Barton, Niko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter all arriving at the club.
Their arrival means there will be an increased competition for places next season, with some of last season’s stars likely to miss out as a result.
Halliday is one of those who could lose his place, but he insists that it is a challenge he is looking forward to.
“The competition is certainly there for me in midfield but it is a challenge I am very much looking forward to,” he told rangers.co.uk
“There is more competition but it’s so healthy, that’s what it’s about to be at Rangers Football Club.”
It will certainly be interesting to see what starting line-up Warburton elects to go with next season.
His signings this summer have given him a range of options and he will surely be keen to make the most of them as they look to challenge Celtic for the title.
Who he picks remains to be seen and perhaps his decision will be decided by which players prove themselves in pre-season.
